New Principal of Leeds East Academy

Mr Danny Bullock is appointed new Principal of Leeds East Academy

Following a national recruitment campaign and a subsequent two-day interview process, the White Rose Academies Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Danny Bullock as Principal of Leeds East Academy.

After joining the Trust in 2013 as a Computer Science Teacher at Leeds West Academy, Danny soon found himself supporting academy improvements as Assistant Principal. In 2019, Danny moved to Leeds East Academy as Vice Principal for Quality of Education. Subsequently, he has had a huge impact at the academy overseeing the Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching & Learning.

In more recent times, Danny took on the role of Acting Principal, in order to support Sarah Carrie, as she transitioned into her new position as Executive Principal of the White Rose Academies Trust. Danny is an ambassador for the Teach First programme, a Teaching Leaders Fellow, and in 2020, completed the National Professional Qualification in Headship (NPQH).

Working at the academy over the past three years, I have seen the dedication and drive of the staffing body, the commitment of the community and the resilience and drive of our wonderfully diverse student body. As Principal, I firmly believe that the collaboration between all stakeholders is essential, and we all have a part to play in the success of our school community. My colleagues and I will be working tirelessly to bridge the gap between home and school ensuring a strong relationship between the two, as well as ensuring the continued commitment to a rich offer for every learner through our broad curriculum and pastoral offer providing a platform where all students perform highly, both academically and in their personal development journeys.”

Ms Sarah Carrie, Executive Principal of the White Rose Academies Trust, added:

He has shown nothing but absolute commitment and dedication to the academy during his last four years as Vice and Senior Vice Principal. Throughout the recruitment process he demonstrated not only his breadth of knowledge for school improvement but also his absolute passion and commitment for the young people who attend the academy and the community of Seacroft which we serve. We could not be more proud of what he has achieved and, as a trust we are confident that the academy is in very safe and capable hands as it commences the next exciting stage of its journey to outstanding and beyond.”
