Year 11 Leavers Celebrations

The first event to mark this moment following the last GCSE exam year 11 Was the High School Leavers assembly, which took place on the 24th of June. During the assembly students watched a short film which documented their time at the Academy through a series of pictures and videos. Many staff attended to pass on their well wishes to the year group and deliver personal good luck messages.
Mr Paddy congratulated the students on the progress they had made from Year 7 to 11. Mr Paddy particularly commented on the journey during their time at the Academy, thanking all the staff for their commitment and support over the course of the year.
Ms Carrie said: "The High School team would like to thank all the Year 11 parents who sent in well done messages and pictures the year group as children, which the students were equally as delighted and embarrassed to see. Students commented that one of the best moments of the assembly was the opportunity they had to sign each other's white T-Shirts issued by the High School team to wish each other well. Over all, it was a lovely afternoon and we wish all our year 11's well for the next exciting chapter in their life."
The High School prom was a fantastic affair on Friday the 8th of July at Garforth Holiday Inn. The students looked spectacular and had a great evening celebrating the end of their time at the academy. The prom had a vintage circus theme with popcorn holder, flower and balloon centre pieces with all students receiving a personalised goodie bag.
Ms Carrie adds: "The students were impeccably behaved, danced the night away and took some fantastic pictures in the photo booth. Overall it was a lovely evening to mark the end of their time at Leeds East Academy."
Year 11 students will need to collect their GCSE results from school on Thursday the 25th of August 2016 from 9.00am onwards.
