World Mental Health Day
Thursday 10th October is World Mental Health Day. #HelloYellow is a campaign to support children and young people raise awareness of Mental Health.
The idea behind it is to wear yellow on Thursday 10 October and help raise vital funds and awareness for the YoungMinds organisation.
“Whether you choose a subtle splash of colour or dress like sunshine from head-to-toe, together we can show young people they’re not alone with their mental health”.
On Wednesday 9th October we held a workshop where students had the opportunity to discuss issues linked to mental health and ways to raise awareness.
Today, Thursday 10th October we are holding the first ever #HelloYellow day. We have encouraged staff and students to wear something yellow and we have decorated parts of the academy with yellow balloons.
During break times we are encouraging students to discuss 'What do you think effects a teenager's mental health wellbeing?"
