Work of the Week

Cooking up a mini masterpiece

Every day we create incredible work across the Academy in each and every subject. This week we focus on two outstanding pieces of work from Food Technology.

Students have been developing their knowledge of cooking and baking skills. This week's students have been making American Pancakes, developing their skills in measuring, weighing out ingredients and combining them, alongside encouraging them to be more confident when using a hob.

Ms Torr said: "Today Kelsey and Demi-Louise collaborated to complete the pancake task and followed the instructions independently. They were extremely successful as their pancakes were a good size, shape and thickness and were cooked until they had a nice golden brown colour. Once cooked both students presented their pancakes with a healthy touch of strawberries. Amazing job!"

Mr Stokes added: "Great work, Kelsey and Demi-Louise. I'm very impressed with how you followed the method with a focus on detail, showing your independence throughout the task. Not only does the final dish demonstrate great pride in presentation, I'm sure it tasted equally good too. Next time, just remember to save a sample for the Principal!"

Outstanding homework also qualifies for Work of the Week. Will you be featured next?
