Work of the Week

Celebrating Incredible Work
Every day we create incredible work across the Academy in each and every subject. This week we focus on a demonstration of drama from Megan in Year 10, who has just completed a piece of practical coursework for Unit 3: Acting Skills on the BTEC Performing Arts course.
Ms Spencer-Matthews said: "Megan's monologue was well-rehearsed and her lines learned from an early point in the process, showing that she was doing work outside of the classroom to ensure she made excellent progress. She brought in costume and props to further aid the audiences understanding of her character. I have graded this piece of work a Distinction because she used a variety of excellent voice and movement skills and she hers was a unique and believable interpretation of Mickey at the start of Blood Brothers."
Mr Stokes adds: "Well done Megan on your outstanding piece of drama, going above and beyond to expand the range of techniques in your performance. The research and development of your piece is clearly evident in the quality of this absorbing final monologue. Well done and we look forward to seeing you perform in our production of Hairspray - The Musical later this month!"
