WE Care for the Older Generation

Transforming community connections
Leeds East Academy were excited to welcome special members of the older generation from the Seacroft community into our Academy for afternoon tea.
The members had their nails painted, played the drums and indulged in all the amazing cakes procided by students and staff.
We also had a 79th birthday to celebrate so all the students sang happy birthday and got her a cake with candles and a card; she was very surprised and took her cake back to her residential home.
Our visitors said: “Your children are a credit to you, they have been amazing” and “I can’t believe they have done all this for us, it’s just lovely”

Councillor Katie Dye loved the event and Leanne Manning from Leeds City Council agreed and said it was great to see the young and old together.
Kate Taverner, manager of Seacroft Good Friends and neighbours, was impressed with our students and Jessica McHale who will be supporting them through work experience.
Mrs Manners said: “our students were an absolute credit to us and I was so proud of them today. They were very caring and used their manners beautifully.”
