Visit to London: WE Day

On Tuesday 3rd March 2020, thirteen members of our Student Parliament visited London for an overnight visit.

In London, they travelled by underground to the London Eye, where students spent the ride spotting the cities famous sites including; Buckingham Palace, Downing Street and Houses of Parliament. Following the London Eye they went back to their hotel at Wembley before going to a restaurant for an evening meal.

On Wednesday, they attended WE Day at Wembley SSE arena. WE Day is powerful celebration of individuals who are making an impact. They were lucky enough to be asked to present and share the work of our Plastic Projects with The Queens Commonwealth Trust. Daisy and Alicia were brave enough to take to the stage to and present their project to 12,500 people. They were fantastic ambassadors for LEA as they spoke confidently and passionately.

Following the concert they headed back to Leeds by mini bus, students took this opportunity to relax and enjoy the journey.

Miss Bean said, “It was an absolute pleasure to take our students to London. They had an amazing time and were a credit to the school.

“My highlight was seeing Daisy and Alicia take to the stage; it takes bravery to present in front of 12,500 people. They did it excellently showing confidence and passion. Well done ladies.”
