Transitioning in the Leeds East Way

Year 5 students have been invited to visit Leeds East Academy to take part in subject workshops which include Dance, PE, Art, Spanish, Geography and Science.

Transition sessions are designed to show children at Primary Schools the exceptional teaching and resources we have at Leeds East Academy. So far we have welcomed Parklands Primary and Seacroft Grange, a total of over 60 students. Over 90% stated that they would consider Leeds East Academy as a first choice school when selecting their options in Year 6.

On Wednesday 1st February the Academy welcomed 30 students from Fieldhead Carr Primary, who enjoyed workshops in Spanish and Sport. Looking forward to the 8th February, we will have Manston St James visiting, experiencing Science, Sport and Dance.

Ms Manners, Year 7 Transition Leader, will be working with Parklands Primary School over the next few weeks, completing a dance routine they began in the workshops, which they will perform to parents during assembly.

Ms Manners said: "Experiencing High School is incredibly important in helping students to settle into the next stage of their education and have a successful transition. Workshops, Induction Days and Taster Days help pupils to adapt and demonstrate our commitment to quality learning to parents and carers."
