Student of the Week

Demonstrating Resilience & Positivity

Congratulations to Ramisha in Year 11, who is Leeds East Academy’s Student of the Week.

Ramisha recently achieved an excellent result in Science when she attained a B on her GCSE mocks. She explained that she is motivated to aim high by her mother, in addition to emulating the achievements of her older sister who achieved 13 GCSEs. As such, Ramisha revised all summer, which is evidenced in her excellent results.

Ramisha's resilience also extends beyond the classroom. Her father recently suffered a cerebrovascular accident (CVA), which has severely debilitated his physical ability. In support of his care, Ramisha has been trained to assist her father at home and provides him with his daily medication. In addition to her regular studies, this is a remarkable achievement.

Mr Whitaker, Executive Principal for The White Rose Academies Trust, said: “Ramisha is an incredible individual who demonstrates Leeds East Academy’s core values of resilience and positivity. The support she provides to family and friends is inspirational to us all. Her sustained efforts at school are also revealed in her excellent grades, which we know will lead her towards a vibrant and diverse choice of career.”

Mr Stokes adds: “Ramisha has been at Leeds East Academy since Year 7 and has seen how our Academy has transformed over the years, particularly recently, as she accelerates towards her GCSE examinations. We are proud of Ramisha, who is an outstanding achiever who tackles problems directly and always seeks to find solutions.”

Who will be the next Student of the Week? It could be you...
