Make The Grade Careers Event

Leeds East Academy's Year 8 and 11 students got the chance to quiz local employers on career path options and the experience and knowledge required to work in a wide range of sector this week, when 16 businesses joined forces for their Make the Grade careers event.

Law firm DLA Piper, snack manufacturer Calbee, GMI Construction, Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust and estate agents Linley Simpson were among the employers invited to attend the event, where over 270 students from Years 8 and 11 moved around in a structured rotation spending five minutes at each businesses’ stand asking their questions about the working world and the skills they’d need to succeed.
