Leeds School Sports Partnership Victory

Second Place success for the Dynamics Dance Team

This week, the Leeds East Academy Dynamics Dance Team performed their routine at the Leeds School Sport Partnership Key Stage 3 Dance Festival. Competing against ten other schools at Temple Moor, Leeds East Academy came an outstanding second place.

Ms Manners said: "The competition was tough and to achieve second place out of eleven schools was truly amazing - an absolute credit to all of our dancers' hard work and determination. There were some tough groups in the competition, but our girls clearly demonstrated their strengths and impressed the audience with their skills and agility."

Holly, part of the Dance Team, explained the work which was put into developing the routine: "We put in a lot of effort and a lot of time and practice. We practiced once or twice a week."

Schools which competed in the competition included Temple Moor, Brigshaw, St Mary's, Ruth Gorse, Carr Manor and Allerton High. Abbey Grange came 3rd Place and Ralph Thoresby came 1st Place.

Dancer Lechelle said: "I was nervous at the start, but when we got into doing it properly it was really nice, because everyone was cheering us on and it felt really good."

Mr Stokes added: "This is a great achievement for our students and a credit to Leeds East Academy. Well done to Lechelle, Hollie, Samira, Louisella, Amy, Molly, Emily, Millie, Emanuela, Megan and especially Ms Manners for leading our team to success. Congratulations to all of the schools who took part and Temple Moor for hosting the event."

The Leeds East Academy Dynamics Dance Team will be performing their winning routine again for Year 6 Transition Evening on 14th March.
