Leeds East Poets perform at Henry Moore Institute

The 100 Club is a membership scheme whereby business owners, corporates and individuals support the work of Leeds Community Foundation, supporting charities and community groups, like East Street Arts, to help people in their communities.

Poetry Factor, a performance poetry programme, was designed to help the young people involved deal with conflict. Following the success of winning the Poetry Slam competition which was performed live on-air at Chapel FM, our team performed in front of thousands at the Breeze festival in Millennium Square before being invited to perform for the prestigious 100 Club.

The team enjoyed a selection of canapés and sparkling drinks before taking to the stage to perform their winning piece, which External Relations Director Nicola Greenan described as “comedic and serious in turn; it was a brilliant display of young talent, intelligence and energy.”
