Leeds East Academy Has Talent

Future record producers should take note of a new band called The Kids in the Cupboard, who have taken Leeds East Academy by storm following a live performance.

The band are comprised of four talented students who share a mutual love of music. Georgia has a natural flair on karaoke outside of school and desired to take it further, prompting Daniel to begin accompanying her with his outstanding ukulele skills. They performed to their classmates and received a very positive response, which inspired them to employ Roman and Ellie to complete the band.

Their band name comes from the little practice room which they constantly use to rehearse their numbers. From first thing in the morning, through break times and even after school, The Kids in the Cupboard have put a lot of time and effort into creating their own unique sound. The band continue to work hard in preparation for school performances.

Acting Principal Mr Stokes said: "Well done to Georgia, Daniel, Roman and Ellie on forming such a great band. The effort these students have put into their music demonstrates our Seven Core Values in action; in particular showing resilience through rehearsal and confidence in live performance. We look forward to enjoying more of their performances, proving that Leeds East Academy certainly has talent!"
