Year 9 student wins gold medal

Leeds East Academy student Jaden, in Year 9, boxes for the ABC Burmantofts Boxing Club and has travelled with twelve other competitors from his gym to compete in the HVIDORE Box Cup 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Jaden competed in the under-15 boys' final and fought for 3 x 1 min 30 second rounds, winning a gold medal on points against Hasan Khan from the Sandygate Amateur Boxing Club. Over one hundred matches from amateur clubs from around the world also took place.

Mr Clarkson, Jaden's year manager, said: "I am exceptionally proud of Jaden's achievement. He displayed excellence and ambition by winning and he wishes to pursue a career in professional boxing. Jaden is a credit to Leeds East academy and an outstanding role model for younger students. Well done Jaden!"
