Year 7
Enrolment Arrangements
During the week commencing the 14th July we invited parents/carers to meet their Year 7 Guardian (Form Tutor) and other key members of staff in an on-line transition meeting. It was lovely to see so many parents/carers and Year 6 students join this event and we are very much
looking forward to meeting you again in the new academic year. If you were unable to attend this meeting and would still like to meet with your child’s Year Leader, please contact the school at info@leedseastacademy.org.uk to make alternative arrangements.
To improve our enrolment process further, we requested that you complete an online form. This information will support your understanding of many of our expectations of the school. Thank you to those parents/carers that have done this already. For those that haven’t the process should take approximately 20 minutes and requires the attention of both students and their parents/Carers. Please contact the academy if you require support with completing this form.
Please click the link and complete this form by Monday 6th September.
Asymptomatic Testing Schedule
Upon returning to the academy students will be invited to complete two lateral flow tests conducted on site with supervision by academy staff. Once these tests have been completed students will then commence home testing.
Informed consent must be provided for all students via their parents/guardians. All parents/guardians will receive a text message with a linked form and privacy notice to complete in order to notify the Academy of consent.
Parents/guardians must complete this form before their child can be tested on site. Testing is strongly encouraged, but is not mandatory and students who have not been granted parental consent will first attend the academy on the day of their induction.
For further information with regards to how to complete a test can be found here: COVID-19 Self Testing.
Year 7 tests will take place as shown below;
- Test 1: Monday the 6th September. This is a training day so students will be expected to attend the academy for their test and then will return home.
- Test 2: Thursday 9th September. The second test is scheduled to take place during school hours on induction day and expectations day. Students will be supervised to the test centre by academy staff.
Students will be allocated a specific time slot to attend their test appointment which we will be coordinated and communicated out by the admin team. You will receive your appointment by Friday 20th August.

2021/22 Enrolment arrangements
Following feedback from parents/carers and our parent Governor we will be changing the format of enrolment for September 2021.
Rather than request that parents/carers attend the academy in person as we have previously done in September, we would like to provide you with the opportunity to virtually meet with your child’s Guardian at a specific time before the summer break. We believe this to be a more positive arrangement as:
- A virtual meeting maintains the health and safety of all stakeholders.
- Students can commence the academic year a day earlier than in previous years.
- Parents that are working do not have to take time off work to physically attend a meeting.
Parents/carers will be receiving a personalised letter from your child’s Guardian inviting you to this virtual meeting next week. If, however, you would prefer to meet with a colleague in school to discuss any concerns you have regarding your child then a one-to-one meeting can be arranged with your child’s Year Leader.
Please contact the school to arrange this:
Call: 0113 2731964
Email: info@leedseastacademy.org.uk
To improve our enrolment process further, we have also transferred documentation that requires your attention to an online form. This information will support your understanding of many of our expectations of the school. This process should take approximately 20 minutes
and requires the attention of both students and their parents/carers. Please contact the academy if you require any support with completing this form.
Please click the link and complete this form by Monday 6th September.
