Mark Colman- Vice Principal (Achievement and Outcomes)

Growing up in the West Midlands, Mark Colman went to secondary school in central Birmingham. Upon completing his A Levels he went to the University of Sheffield to study Engineering. Mark was sponsored by Corus (formerly British Steel) during the first couple of years of his Engineering course so spent two summers working at the steelworks in Scunthorpe. In 2005/06 Mr Colman worked abroad in the state of Michigan USA, at a summer camp for children from Chicago. It was here that he realised an engineering career was not for him and he started his teaching qualification in Sheffield the following September. After graduating in 2008 with a BSc Hons in Science with Education, Mark began his teaching career at Rossington All Saints Academy in Doncaster.

Mark has worked in a wide variety of roles within the academy and was Head of Science for a number of years overseeing a continued rapid improvement in student results. He then moved onto the senior leadership team and worked as an Assistant Principal with responsibility for data, progress and tracking of student achievement. He even worked out of his subject area as the Head of Maths for a year in 2013.

He is passionate about ensuring the best progress for all students and has been consistently judged as an outstanding classroom practitioner. Mark also graduated from the highly regarded Teaching Leaders Fellowship program in 2014.
