Leeds East Academy

Principal's Welcome

As Principal of Leeds East Academy, I am delighted to welcome you to our school.

Leeds East Academy serves the community of Seacroft and other surrounding areas and is fortunate to be housed in a new £14-million building, which opened in late 2013. The staff and students of the Academy benefit from a bright, vibrant, heavily-resourced learning environment, which is highly flexible to meet the needs of the 21st Century learner.

At Leeds East Academy our approaches to discipline are traditional and we expect the very highest levels of behaviour and attitudes to learning from our students at all times. This traditional approach, however, is coupled with an excellent level of pastoral care and a curriculum which is both rich and diverse. At Key Stage 3, students experience our new highly successful Next Steps Curriculum and at Key Stage 4 have the choice of a large number of courses suited to the various requirements of our bold and ambitious students.

As part of the White Rose Academies Trust, Leeds East Academy has set its ambition to be rated by OFSTED as Outstanding in the next three years. This is a challenge that both staff and students alike are determined to meet. Please take a moment to have a look at our most recent OFSTED report where excellent improvements were noted and Leadership and Management of the school was judged as Good.

Within our Academy, students are well behaved, respectful and polite. Students and staff work tirelessly to uphold the Core Values of the school, which are centred around: Excellence, Punctuality, Ambition, Confidence, Resilience, Positivity and Respect. Our Core Values underpin everything we do on a daily basis and ensure that we all know the role that we have to play in both our school and community as a whole.

I look forward to working in partnership with you to ensure that all of our students are successful in both their time with us at Leeds East Academy and also their future studies and careers.
