WRAT Dance Competition

Showcasing dance talent with White Rose Academies Trust

On the evening of 6th June, Mrs Spencer-Matthews and Mrs Lennon took a small but mighty group of students to Leeds West Academy to participate in the inaugural WRAT Dance competition.

We were warmly received by Miss Neal and Miss Newsome as well as the dancers from LWA who made our students feel more than welcome. All our students gave it 100%, performing a mixture of contemporary, lyrical and urban pieces.

Mrs Spencer-Matthews was privileged to judge the event with two of LWA's Performing Arts prefects and said: “The imagination, skill and quality that I have seen tonight has absolutely blown me away. These students have fully embodied our WRAT core values to produce work of outstanding quality.

“What is also remarkable is the professionalism and strong work ethic of all the students from both academies that were involved. These kids have bright futures ahead of them.”

We are very proud of all students involved and a special mention should go to Alyssa in Year 10 who won joint 'most promising' and Aimee and Katie in Year 9 who were awarded runner up in the duet / trio category.
