Power of Revision
Preparation for examinations
Year 11 students at Leeds East Academy have well and truly understood the importance of this academic year and what they need to do to achieve excellent GCSE exam results. Students are focussed, resilient and making rapid progress.
Revision is sometimes considered to be something that should be completed at the final stages of preparation for exams and therefore students can often leave revision until too late.
It is actually a process that should be done alongside a student's studies. It embeds their learning and also reinforces good habits making students well- prepared for the challenging task ahead of them.
There was a fantastic turn out to maths revision in November (as seen in the photograph above) with nearly a third of the year group revising together. Students at this session realised the power of revision and the positive impact this will have on their exam results.
Revision sessions will be on offer for students from now until their final exams alongside further revision opportunities. Some students have already benefitted from revision folders and revision guides in core subjects. There will also be holiday tutor sessions available to students later in the year.
Ms Gill said: " It is fantastic to know that our students are engaged with after-school revision and are continuing to develop their revision skills outside of the classroom. We are confident that this will be a defining feature of our students at Leeds East Academy to lead them to success."
