Leeds East Academy

New Principal Announced

Mrs Sarah Carrie is appointed new Principal of Leeds East Academy

Following a national advertising campaign and a rigorous two-day interview process, we are delighted to inform you that Mrs Sarah Carrie has been appointed as Principal of Leeds East Academy.

Sarah Carrie has worked at the school for over 18 years, beginning her career back in 2000 when it was Parklands Girls.  Through her hard work, determination and passion for Education, Sarah has enjoyed a stellar career at the Academy/wider Trust as an outstanding teacher, excellent middle leader and exceptional senior leader.

Since joining the Senior Leadership Team in September 2016, Sarah has played an enormous role in the rapid improvements which have taken place at the school over the last 18 months and will now continue that journey, with her outstanding team of staff and students alongside her, to transform Leeds East Academy in to a world class school.

Sarah has been totally committed to the school for the last 18 years and says that she has always known that the staff and students are capable of what is now being achieved and she truly believes that Leeds East Academy will become Outstanding very soon.

I am sure you will all join myself and Andrew Whitaker, Executive Principal, and the rest of our school community in congratulating Sarah and supporting her in her future leadership of our Academy.

In closing, may I also state, that we are also looking forward to welcoming Mr Mark Colman as Vice Principal, Achievement and Outcomes and Mr Tom Bellwood as Assistant Principal, PDB&W to the Senior Leadership Team after Easter, both colleagues will add greater capacity to the already highly talented staffing body at the Academy.

 Yours faithfully,

Professor Darren Shickle                                       Mr Andrew Whitaker
