Meet our Teaching and Learning Team
Continuing our journey to outstanding
As we continue on our quest to become an outstanding educational provision, we maintain that we must, at all times, keep teaching and learning at the very forefront of our practice and our discussions at Leeds East Academy.
Ever looking to raise standards across the Academy, we have recently appointed Debby Callaghan as Teaching and Learning Leader and Louise Wisson as Lead Practitioner for Teaching and Learning – needless to say that Miss Widnall is thrilled to have a team of her own to run with all the many ideas we want to put into practice!
Both colleagues have a wealth of experience from leading the highest quality CPD to delivering excellence within their classrooms and we look forward to seeing the impact of both roles later in the year. They are already being kept very busy with all things pedagogical, to help facilitate our wonderful staff body with the support and guidance needed to drive forwards the standards of Teaching and Learning across the school and we look forward to updating you all with our initiatives in the coming months.
Miss Wisson says, "I feel so excited and honoured to have been made a Lead Practitioner at Leeds East Academy. I have learnt a great deal from coaching and mentoring since starting at LEA and now I can't wait to impart what I've learnt onto others. It's been so exciting to deliver bespoke CPD sessions and workshops to my colleagues already and see ideas developed in meetings take shape across the Academy".
