Academy Closure due to Snow

A message from LEA's Senior Leadership Team

As you will be aware, the decision was made this morning to close the school due to poor weather. This is always a regrettable situation but the Senior Leadership Team wanted to communicate that at the heart of such decisions lies the welfare of our students; their health and their safety.

With the roads becoming impassable, buses struggling to get up and down the hill and an inadequate staff:student ratio on site, a number of safeguarding questions were raised. At which point the decision to close became obvious and we followed the School Closure Protocol.

The safeguarding of our students will always be our highest priority and we appreciate your understanding with this matter. We intend to be open tomorrow but should inclement weather prevail, the Snow Cascade Procedure will be followed. Please check the website and local radio for updates.
