BASIC SKILLS Brief Overview:

- Students will be able to recognise
- Contrasting and complimentary colours
- Primary, secondary and intermediate colours.
- Using, pencil and paint students will practice techniques to show
- Shading, tints and tone.
GRAFFITI SKATEBOARDS or ABSTRACT LANDSCAPES
Building upon students’ knowledge and understanding of colour. Landscapes looks at abstract art and bold colour schemes, both harmonious and contrasting, to make famous
world landmarks reflect contemporary painting techniques.
The Graffiti project also looks at bold colour schemes with attention to contrasting colours. Students will gather a range of graffiti related research to produce a graffiti based skateboard design as their personal response.
SWEETS or PORTRAITS
Both projects look at both historical and contemporary pop art images to create a personal response to the theme. They will produce tonal pencil illustrations to assist in developing their ideas.
The sweet project personal response is a mixed media collage and the portrait project is a series of portrait illustrations reflecting different styles and techniques studied.
